Film Name:金蝉脱壳3 / Escape Plan：The Extractors/Escape Plan 3：Devil’s Station
This is an action movie with a lot of stars, but the weak plot and the fights that are nothing to look at really don’t hold one’s interest.
The daughter of a Hong Kong tech tycoon goes missing, and her new Chinese bodyguard is knocked out with a flash drive in his pocket. The bodyguard arrives in the U.S., asks Stallone’s Breslin’s team for help, and brings the flash drive to him; Breslin discovers that the culprit is the deranged son of one of his old partners, who serves as the villain and kidnaps Breslin’s lover, holding her in a huge prison called “Devil’s Station”. Breslin teams up with the former bodyguard of the tycoon’s daughter, Luo Shen, played by Zhang Jin, to try to rob the prison again, along with the current bodyguard of the Chinese daughter and DeRosa, played by Batista.
Believing that Breslin has stolen their technology and betrayed his father, the villain is about to use the tycoon’s daughter as leverage to extort a huge fortune. Though the infamous Devil’s Station is full of obstacles and they are discovered when they first enter, Breslin’s bravery and cooperation with Luo Shen and DeRosa finally save the tycoon’s daughter. Luo Shen, the former bodyguard who used to be in love with the tycoon’s daughter, also comes together with the tycoon’s daughter, realizing a great reunion.
The movie seems to adopt the structure of a video game. First, some bad guys kidnap the tycoon’s daughter, and then the bodyguard and boyfriend of the tycoon’s daughter turn to a professional team, and they go into battle together to defeat the bad guys and rescue the hostage. The bodyguard, who is in charge of messaging, is killed as soon as he enters the demonic station.
The music of the movie is extremely rendered, but the plot drags on and on —- to make up for the weak structure, which makes it unbearable.
Actors Zhang Jin and Dave Bautista make an indispensable pair in 《Escape Plan：The Extractors》. With Zhang Jin’s body, those who don’t know it think that Zhang Tianzhi has been resurrected in America. It’s just that Dave Batista is quite a bit slower, perhaps intentionally by the director.
In any case, 《Escape Plan：The Extractors》 is a bit of a shoddy production, and I can’t say that with the addition of Stallone, it’s necessarily a fine movie. Perhaps with the addition of a lot of Chinese leads, the director intentionally showed off his Chinese kung fu, and didn’t polish the plot properly, which made the movie overshadowed.
