In the film, Nicholas Tse plays Tang Fei, a police officer whose aggressive pursuit of a suspect triggers a chain-reaction car crash, tragically killing a young girl.
Consumed by guilt, Tang Fei resolves to atone for his mistake through relentless dedication. When he learns the girl’s twin sister has been kidnapped, he defies his colleagues’ warnings and vows to rescue the child. However, the girl’s mother is the prosecutor who originally prosecuted the suspect. Upon discovering her daughter died because of Tang Fei, she momentarily wavered during the trial. Ultimately, it was her daughter who drove her to choose reason and justice—a form of personal redemption.
Another pivotal character is the menacing Hong Jing, who earns his living by kidnapping and eliminating people. His latest assignment is to abduct the prosecutor’s daughter.
