Film Name: 尸家重地 / Mortuary Blues / 屍家重地

The plot is decent, but there are a few too many raunchy jokes…
During the theater troupe’s performance, both the actors on stage and the musicians backstage suddenly got diarrhea. So they improvised the script right there—Bai Suzhen, Xiaoqing, and Fahai all went into labor 23333
Starting from the private quarters, the quest for the “treasure” began.

The secret passageway plot was both thrilling and hilarious.

At around 20 minutes in, what was that painted object? The cement foot that delivers the final blow to the First Emperor?

Rare footage of early Polaroid cameras in use.

The First Emperor bangs drums and gongs on stage while everyone watches secretly.
Some unresolved questions: The theater troupe seems to suffer diarrhea from that poisonous plant, but the origin of the plant remains unexplained (if the plant contaminated the water source, why were the villagers unaffected? This plot point was inexplicably abandoned later).
The group fought desperately against ordinary zombies in the secret passage, then discovered messages near the well warning of imminent danger to members of several prominent families. They rushed to rescue them. Why did Ah Qiu and Teacher Lin suddenly know that “pretending to be dead corpses would avoid detection by those ordinary zombies”?

The First Emperor not only recognized traditional Chinese characters from the early 90s but also knew about Wang Zhaojun’s journey to the frontier and Yang Guifei bathing—that’s some serious parody…
The Emperor’s mention of cloth several zhang long binding the theater troupe reminded me of the tree demon’s tongue in A Chinese Ghost Story.

There’s a continuity error here—the cloth binding the people was actually attached with adhesive.
At the end, everyone thought they’d defeated the Emperor, only for him to burst into laughter, revealing it wasn’t over yet…
